Expose joins The Sun

expose golden square

To Celebrate the Expose Crew joining The Irish Sun as Entertainment contributors, the Hive has just completed this outdoor campaign with photographer Adrian Stewart and Happy Finish. Don’t they look well. And speaking of fashion – it’s very fashionable to do behind the scenes of the shoot – so we did.

Wine and Folly

If you’ve been good this year, you’ll have already received a Hive Christmas Tee and an invite to our Christmas knees up. It takes place at the Hive on Thursday week, the 10th of December. The same day that the Sam Beckett bridge officially opens (We are right beside it on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay) and the Christmas Market opens in the IFSC. We’ll ease ourselves into the party season with a little Christmas cheer. Bye bye 2009.

The Hive gets a new driveway

…or the samuel beckett bridge as most people have started calling it. Its just arrived, it’s 60 million quid, and its awesome. We’ve captured the moment in history when it came through the eastlink bridge. It’s going to take about another 8 months to finish but when done it will bring you right to the Hive’s door on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay. Oh giving directions will never be the same again.

Lorna is away tomorrow

lorna3

For the last six weeks we’ve had Lorna in on work placement from Limerick school of art and design

lorna1lorna2

One of her projects involved seeing what she could do with just one shape – her ATA clothing range was where she ended up. Note the ‘hold the design up with out seeing your face in front of a blank wall’ designer pose we made her do.

Lorna the palce won’t be the same without you – it will however be a little quieter.

So we aren’t ingorning you, we just have to do some work. Sorry.

at least thirteen ways of looking at a blackbird

Here’s Mark & Chris’s way.

Rory Jeffers asked Mark & Chris to do a piece to represent a poem for the ‘At least thirteen ways of looking at a blackbird’ exhibition at The Naughton Gallery at Queen’s in Belfast.

Here’s the poem.

The small bird
chirp-chirruped:
yellow neb,
a note-spurt.
Blackbird over
Lagan water.
Clumps of yellow
whin-burst!
Seamus Heaney
And here’s our way of looking at it.
