Gold Diggers
New York, N.Y., May 27, 2010 – The CLIO Awards, one of the world’s most recognized international advertising, design and communications competitions honoring creative excellence and innovation today announced winners for the 2010 TV/Cinema/Digital Awards held at Skylight Soho in New York City. (their words)
The Hive picked up a Gold CLIO for the Barnardos ‘Memories’ campaign in NY last night. First one in a while for Ireland. Great night and so worth the trip.

We’re sooo going there
Some lucky monkeys from The Hive will be attending the clios next week in NYC, and hopefully we’ve won something. We normally don’t get much further than the Mansion house for these things, so we’re a little giddy. Going along are Adam, Verity, Avril and Jim. Oh and Rishi. He’s one of our groupies, and he’s kindof married to Verity.

Last of the Blue Tooth Fairies
Will has a new show, Blue Tooth Fairy. It’s a virtual download show, where no work will be displayed on the walls, instead members of the audience will receive the digital files via Bluetooth on their mobile phones.
The show features 10 new works, some unreleased recent work, some unseen secret pieces. Its run at filmbase for the last two nights and really seen to capture the imagination. Last night tonight (friday the 13th, oooohh spooky).
Well done Will

The Hive gets a new driveway
…or the samuel beckett bridge as most people have started calling it. Its just arrived, it’s 60 million quid, and its awesome. We’ve captured the moment in history when it came through the eastlink bridge. It’s going to take about another 8 months to finish but when done it will bring you right to the Hive’s door on Sir John Rogerson’s Quay. Oh giving directions will never be the same again.

a bit of culture
Tonight we headed down to the Project Arts Center in Temple Bar to see the Rough Magic Theater Companies ‘Solemn mass for a full moon in summer’, written by Michel Tremblay. We are currently in the middle of some new work for The Dublin Theatre Festival, so we thought we’d get feel for it and remind ourselves what gives the theatre a unique appeal. Whilst we do many things here at The Hive we aren’t about to start reviewing theatre so here’s what The Guardian said about it. It’s on till the 28th of March.
